Guidelines for Authors
General Notes
The Journal of Criminal Justice and Security is a scientific magazine fostering interdisciplinary discussion and exchange of findings in the field of safety and security studies. In its effort to shed light on legal, organisational, criminological, politological, sociological, psychological, and criminal-policy aspects of security-relevant concepts and phenomena, it facilitates a deeper understanding of the roles and the functioning of society, organisations, and individuals cooperating in the provision of security.
Title of a paper
Title: font size 14 pt. bold
Authors
The first and last name of the author (and co-authors) should be stated (font size 12). The remaining information including their academic title, position, and institution is to be provided under About the Author(s) at the end of the paper.
Abstract
To write an abstract, please complete the following fields about your paper. There are four fields which are obligatory (Purpose, Design, Findings and Value); the other two (Research Limitations/Implications and Practical Implications) may be omitted if they do not apply to your paper.
Abstracts should contain no more than 250 words. Write concisely and clearly. The abstract should reflect only what appears in the original paper.
- Purpose - What are the reason(s) for writing the paper or the aims of the research?
- Design/Methods/Approach - How are the objectives achieved? Include the main method(s) used in the research. Define the theoretical approach to the topic and the scope of the subject.
- Findings - What was found in the course of the work?
- Research Limitations/Implications (if applicable) - If the paper reports on research, this section should include suggestions for future research and any limitations identified in the research process.
- Practical Implications (if applicable) - What outcomes and implications for practice, applications and consequences have been identified? Not all papers will have practical implications but most will. What changes to practice should be made as a result of this research/paper?
- Originality/Value - What is new in the paper? State the value of the paper and to whom.
Keywords
4-6 keywords
Title, abstract, and keywords in Slovenian
Authors are obliged to provide the Slovenian translation of the title, the abstract, and the keywords, unless otherwise agreed upon with the editor.
Text
Papers should be between 3.500 and 7.500 words in length. The papers should be written in MS Word format, Times New Roman, font size 11 pt., 1,5 spacing, with the following margins:
Top – 3 cm,
Bottom – 3 cm
Left – 2 cm,
Right – 4 cm
Text structure
Titles of chapters, sections and subsections should be written in 14 pt font size, bold.
Example:

REFERENCES
As regards empirical articles, the IMRAD format is strongly advised.
Quoting of references
The sources should be listed in alphabetical order and according to APA Citation Style , 7th edition.

Tables, graphs and pictures
Tables should be made in MS Word or Excel. Photographs, graphs and figures are to be submitted in jpg or pdf format. Pictures, graphs and drawings should be up to 16 cm wide. Lines in graphs and drawings should be at least 0.3 mm thick.
Peer review
All articles published in the Journal of Criminal Justice and Security are peer reviewed by two anonymous reviewers. The editors may, at their own discretion and without a previous peer review, refuse publication if a submission is considered inappropriate due to an article being either not prepared according to the above Guidelines or irrelevant to the field of science covered by the Journal.
