About the Journal
The Journal of Criminal Justice and Security is a scientific magazine fostering interdisciplinary discussion and exchange of findings in the field of safety and security studies. In its effort to shed light on legal, organisational, criminological, politological, sociological, psychological, and criminal-policy aspects of security-relevant concepts and phenomena, it facilitates a deeper understanding of the roles and the functioning of society, organisations, and individuals cooperating in the provision of security.
As such, the Journal of Criminal Justice and Security covers the following thematic areas:
- theoretical foundations of safety and security,
- organisation and management of security mechanisms,
- combating criminality,
- policing,
- private security,
- intelligence and security, and
- information security.
Journal of Criminal Justice and Security publishes articles written in Slovene and English.
Articles in the Journal of Criminal Justice and Security are abstracted and indexed in Criminology Collection (ProQuest), Criminal Justice Abstracts (EBSCO) and Criminal Justice Abstracts with Full Text (EBSCO).
Journal of Criminal Justice and Security is an open-access journal, published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License CC BY 4.0.
Publishing Ethics
All the articles submitted to the Journal of Criminal Justice and Security (Varstvoslovje) are peer reviewed by two anonymous peer reviewers. Editors of the Journal of Criminal Justice and Security adhere to the publication ethics and malpractice policies as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for journal editors.
